We instantly fell in love with the magic of Begonias. Begonias represent resilience; although having a delicate reputation and appearance, they are fighting survivors.
The true magic of begonias is in their ability for regrowth. Even a tiny fraction of a once-broken begonia leaf can experience rebirth into a whole new plant!
Always renewing themselves by putting down new roots; these roots reach horizontally along surfaces, seeking fresh resources. Like the roots of one’s soul, the roots of begonias are always seeking nourishment.
Delicate flowers making thousands of seeds, wind and rain carrying these seeds to sprout across multiple continents and the world. Tiny seeds like pixie dust, forming leaves the size of a pinhead, with the potential to grow into magnificently large specimens.
And all the beauty which comes out at night; a shimmer and iridescence of the leaves and flowers which can only be seen by the naked eye, under the just the right lighting. All so diverse in shapes and sizes, but so much the same in essence.
A plant meant to be shared within a community to ensure its survival, and not isolated
Like any ecosystem, our collection is ever evolving, below are some of our core items which we carry. Please contact us to purchase. Or even better - subscribe to our mailing list to find our about our next exciting in-person plant fundraiser, or online plant sale!
We carry a selection of potted begonias which are ready-to-go, or as cuttings. Our collection is made possible by our connections with begonia growers all across Alberta, Canada and the world. We believe in the safekeeping of begonias - the more they are distributed to others, the more secure their existence is.
Want to try something new and learn how to grow begonias from seed? Check out our detailed blog post here. We offer begonia and other seeds which are hold special meaning to us. Many have been collected by hand from our own collection. We believe seeds have a story - and like people - carry unlimited potential for growth!
